Types: Hacking & Interception of Communication
Protection: Access control system, passwords, firewalls, encryption, & VPN

Computer sabotage.

Viruses & Malwares: Computer Viruses, Computer Worms, Trojan Horses, & Mobile Malware.
Denial of service

Identity theft: Identity Theft, Phishing & Spear Phishing, Pharming and Drive-By Phishing

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF HTML

HTML is the set of markup symbols or codes inserted in a file intended for display on a World Wide Web Browser page. It tells the Web browser how to display a Web page's words and images for the user.

Each individual markup code is referred to as an element and some element come in pairs that indicate when some display effect is to begin and when it is to end.

HTML is a formal Recommendation by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is generally adhered to by the major browsers, Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape's Navigator, which also provide some additional non-standard codes.

How html is used;

HTML is a script language. The basic formatting controls are included between the brackets < and >. Hence they cannot be used in the text except for this purpose. Two other HTML control characters you cannot use are & and "
3 basic level of HTML :

document structure which divided into major sections
division within each of the major section
exist primarily within each of the major section. Eg : lists and tables

Intranet is;

a network within an organization.

Extranet is;

a network that allows controlled access from the outside, for specific business or educational purpose.

mail that is send electronically across the internet.
delivered quickly in few seconds or minutes.

What is the most used email?

The most commonly used by people nowadays are Yahoo but there are also few more email that can be used. One of the example is Gmail for Google user.

What are the advantages of using email?

cheaper
secure
fast
global
reliable
printable
can attach files

What are the ~~disadvantages~~ of using email?

misdirection
interception
spamming
forgery-overload
no response (from the receiver)

Definition of web browser;

Software application that enables user to display and interact with text images etc., and it is located on web page.

Examples of web browser;

These are some examples of web browser that is widely use but the most commonly ones are Mozilla and Google. Or perhaps Internet Explorer.

What can we do with web browser?

Well of course to browse and also to search for certain information.

Search tool:

search engine (software that enables to search internet using keywords). Example of search engines are Google, Yahoo and Alta Vista.
subject directories (the searching is by human selection based on subject we want).
meta-searcher
specialized search tool

The easiest and most efficient technique?

By using Google Advance.

Talking about internet, for sure we will think of blogging, source of information, browsing, social networking and many more. However, what is the actual meaning of Internet?

Internet is actually;

A global networking that links computers to computers by sharing the TCP/IP protocol.
Internet carries various information and services.
Example: Online chat, electronic mail (email), and file transfer (downloads and uploads).

There are many ways to get access to the Internet such as;

Dial-up (This one is used with the telephone line. I remember I ever used this back then when I was in primary school and it is a bit slower cuz you have to dial 1515 if I'm not mistaken and you have to wait for the line to get connected to get Internet access -_-)
Landline
T-lines
WiFi/WiMax (This one, everyone knows -,-)
Satellite (Well this one is normally being used in school especially in Malaysia. There are some schools that are using this way. You might want to Google em up to know which schools are still using it.)
GPRS/EDGE (Smartphone users, what is this? Hehe :P)
3G/2G (Uses in cellphones and also smartphones)

P/S: You might want to search for the statistic of Internet users worldwide. And fyi, Asia is on the first place !

What's wrong with me ? -_-

Well , I know this title definitely stray away from what I am going to talk. But yeah , what is wrong with me for not updating this blog for quite long time (Ehem, compared to my other classmates.) and also for not following my classmates' blogs. I'm sorry I WILL FOLLOW ALL OF YOU NOW. Do inform me if I haven't followed anyone yet (:

Since, I haven't updated this blog for quite sometimes, I will talk a lot and make this post long. Nah I'm kidding. I don't know what to write actually -_-

But but, I do remember what I have learnt for these past few weeks. I'm gonna list out what I remember before it gone from my RAM.

The first thing that I still remember till this moment (XD) is NETWORK TOPOLOGY .

There are few network topology that carry almost the same function but in different ways such as ;

bus
line
ring
star
tree

And there are many thing else but I forgot :P

And last week we had to present according to the term/device that the lecturer told us to. And me and my group member ( Jac and Wan ) presented about connectors/hubs. It still fresh in my mind too.

Connectors are the device that allows us to connect many networks or peripherals. Hubs can be said as actually carries almost the same function as connectors.
